We won't tell you they're coming back. Nobody honest can.

A reading can't promise an outcome or tell you what's in someone else's head. What it can do is slow you down long enough to see the whole shape of things: what you're carrying, what you want, what's in the way, and what's actually in your hands.

That's usually the answer people were looking for when they asked.

  1. I

    About your words

Every reading answers the question you wrote, in your terms. Nothing pasted from a card guide.

  2. II

    The original deck

We read with Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 cards, the deck nearly every modern tarot is based on.

Your question

I've been offered a job in Lisbon. Part of me wants to go and part of me thinks I'd just be running away. What am I not seeing?

II Where it stands
Page of Pentacles tarot card, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, 1909
III What helps next

I. What's underneath: Eight of Cups

A figure walks away from eight cups stacked neatly behind them, under a moon that watches without judging. Nothing here is broken. The cups are fine. That's the point: you aren't fleeing a disaster. You're leaving something that stopped filling you a while ago.

The worry that you'd be running away deserves a look, but this card describes leaving with your eyes open, not in a panic.

II. Where it stands: The Star

After the year you described, the Star is the card of someone finally exhaling. She pours one jug back into the pool and the other onto the land, both at once. You don't have to choose between looking after what you've built and reaching for something new. The card suggests you've already started healing, and this offer is arriving at a moment when you can actually hear it.

III. What helps next: Page of Pentacles

The Page holds a single coin up to the light as if nothing else exists. Practical, curious, unhurried. Before you decide, make the move concrete. What would your first month cost? Who would you call on a bad day? What would an ordinary Tuesday look like? The answer you're after is in those details, not in another round of pros and cons.

The reading continues for about 800 words, then brings the three cards together and leaves you three questions to sit with.

Why infinity

Look above their heads.

In the 1909 deck, the appears on only two cards. The Magician has everything he needs laid out on the table in front of him. Strength closes a lion's jaws with her bare hands, gently.

That's what a good reading reminds you: you have more to work with than the situation makes you feel. It's where our name comes from.

Questions, answered straight

Can tarot really predict the future?

We don't claim it can, and we'd be wary of anyone who does. Tarot is a set of 78 images that are very good at helping people see a situation from new angles. Your reading describes the shape of your situation and the direction it seems to be pointing, so you can decide what to do with it.

What should I ask?

Open questions work best. Instead of "Will he call?", try "What do I need to understand about where this is going?" Instead of "Should I quit?", try "What am I not seeing about my job?" If you're stuck, the order form has examples you can borrow.

Can I ask about another person?

Yes. Add their first name and we'll read the relationship from your side: how you see them, what's between you, and what's in your hands. We won't pretend to know what they're thinking. Nobody can, whatever they charge.

How long does it take?

Your reading arrives as a PDF in your inbox within 24 hours of your order.

What if it doesn't speak to me?

Email us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full. You don't need to give a reason.

Is my question private?

Yes. We use it to write your reading and for nothing else. We don't sell or share personal data, and we delete reading requests after 12 months. The details are in our privacy policy.

Which deck do you use?

The original 1909 tarot deck illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. Almost every modern deck borrows its images, and every card you see on this site is a scan of an early printing from around 1910.

Why written, and not a call?

Writing makes us careful, and it gives you something to keep. You can read it slowly, put it away, and come back next week to notice what you missed the first time.

Ask the question you've been putting off.
